The Impact of Open Source on the Implementation of a Secured File Storage System for SMME’s Interactive Mobile Web Platform: A Hybrid Solution Approach Perspective
In recent weeks, I have been providing updates and the latest development on the status of the pilot project, which is based on the development of an Interactive Mobile Web Platform for SMMEs community. Therefore, this post serves as an ongoing engagements initiative with small business owners, start-ups and new entrants including emerging entrepreneurs to the SMME marketplace within the developing economies.
I have now successfully completed a download link button to be integrated with the proposed Interactive Mobile Web Platform: this means, the content owners will be able to share their productions with the users visiting their individual platforms for media, entertainment and communication, enhancing the personal experience to the users. This download feature enables the content producers to push or share their productions through different channels including online channels, which are all integrated seamlessly with the platform. This a true demonstration of a phenomenon behind omnichannel approaches for SMMEs industry players.
Similarly, I have also completed the full implementation of a highly secured File Storage System based on the world’s top leading brands for cloud computing platforms (i.e. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Google). The development of the Interactive Mobile Web Platform is based entirely on the full implementation of Open Source Ecosystem. However, also noted by different industry experts, tech hobbyists and open source enthusiasts like myself, there are strong associations between open source, cloud computing and big data ecosystems. Big data in this context may refer to the storage, upload, download, streaming, and delivery of different content or type of files in various formats such as in PDF, MP3, MP4, WAV, ACC, AVI, DOC, etc. This approach is based entirely on the full implementation of open source ecosystem using a large pool of computing, storage, and networking resources.
Hundreds of the world’s largest brands today rely on the open source strong ecosystem to run their daily business whilst improving productions, reducing costs and enhancing efficiencies. Therefore, the Interactive Mobile Web Platform will largely be depended on the implementation of the hybrid solution: web hosting in the data centre using local service providers and File Storage System deployed in the cloud. This will enable SMMEs to manage their Interactive Mobile Web Platform through the deployment of a responsive user interface and APIs integrated with other third-party systems – business partnership programmes. Interactive Mobile Web Platform uses a series of open APIs, which are compatible with the world’s top leading brands in cloud computing platforms.
There are many reasons that prompted the adoption of open source together with cloud computing to meet the requirements of the Interactive Mobile Web Platform thereby fulfilling SMME needs. One of the major advantages of open source is that it’s unconstrained by proprietary barriers of software vendors. SMMEs could witness huge savings through the adoption of open source ecosystem when implementing an Interactive Mobile Web Platform.
